We were thrilled with the participation levels at our athletics carnival held on the 3rd of August at Casey Fields. We had a record number with over 400 students taking part in various athletics events throughout the day. We did experience some light rain on and off and the track and particularly the field events were very wet underfoot. But the show went on and we were determined to get through the scheduled events. The only event to be postponed was the high jump due to a dangerously slippery surface. A huge thank you to all of our parent helpers with a special mention to Kate Rowe, Jodie Kumbara, Leah Hynnes and Rosemary McClintock who spent many hours collating results on the day and to house captains Risinu and Jamieson and James Rowe who have worked tirelessly prior to this event and also came to the track at 8am to help set up the hurdles. A big thank you to Robert Jamieson for his wonderful job as the starter for all of the track events. Also a special mention to Mr. Kenny, Mr. Armao and Gina who also helped out early in the morning setting up for the day. And lastly a huge cheer for Mrs Gamble who works tirelessly every year to make this event run as smoothly as possible on the day. Her enthusiasm, energy and dedication towards her students and her passion for sport are certainly appreciated by the whole school community. Thank you!!
